Critic Reviews

What a stupendous, marvelous, edge of your seat adventure drama! I loved every second of it!! No... wait... surely I'm thinking of another movie. Certainly I am ‘cause this movie STUNK! Pax TV has done it again, they've gone and made another BAD movie. I thought eventually their movies would start to get better but nay, they just keep stinkin' up the joint. Movies about hail, cave ins, avalanches, lightning, volcanoes, and now flooding... see a pattern here, sort of? One thing Pax does accomplish is their movies are family friendly. But they still stink. Here in Killer Flood we see really bad sets, some constructed for like 12 bucks. Bad writing is rampant in Pax movies. Kind of midway through this movie it's made known that the dam's breaking is only 3 hours away. Really? All of a sudden, just three hours away?? Come on. Very far fetched. Mr. Original Dam Architect who designed this dam said so and he is a hometown boy. Ya know, dam architects aren't quite as common as those that design houses. It's a very specialized field but Mr. original architect, played by Joe Lando, just so happened to be from the very same town, Rutland, Vermont? A dam of that size in Vermont, `tallest structure in the Northeast,' Garth's dad tells him??? Look, when you use real place names like Rutland and Burlington you really oughta stick to the actual geography of the region. Had the writer decided to set this in the fictional town of Whateverville, Washington then this woulda been more believable to those that are educated enough to know a dam of this magnitude can not exist in Vermont. HA! And aspiring filmmakers take note - do not add incessant K9 whimpering sounds whenever there's a dog present. Anyone who knows dogs well knows they don't go around whimpering half the time. And finally, grape juice should not be used when creating massive and violent flooding. So much of the flooding in this movie looked like they used grape juice or purple coloring for some kind of added effect.

Despite all of that (and that which I did not mention) this movie was actually somewhat entertaining but on a really low level. I mean, it didn't put me to sleep but there's nothing at all to rave about. Nothing. Michele Greene was pretty good but I cannot understand why she doesn't get some more serious work. Bruce Boxleitner was the crooked businessman. I kind of saw him in this as TV's version of the professional film actor Jon Voight... and maybe Joe Lando's the TV version of Mel Gibson? Well, whatever, they're TV actors and they made the wrong decision to be in Killer Flood. My grade for this: D-
